Do you offer refunds?

All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to other athletes.

Can I transfer my individual race entry to another person?

No, individual registrations MAY NOT be transferred from one person to another.  Relay teams may switch members and should contact mesp@mesp.com to do so. Changes to relay team members will be permitted until March 31st without penalty; starting April 1st each change to a relay team will be assessed a fee of $25 that must be paid at the time the change is made.

Can I sign up the day of the event?

If the event has not sold out, the remaining spots will be sold on Saturday. However, we do expect the event to sell out as it has in past years, so we advise you to register early.

I can bike and run, but I’m nervous about the ocean swimming.

We will be holding an ocean swim clinic prior to the race taught by Los Angeles County’s top lifeguards! Check back for details.

Do I need to wear a wetsuit?

Wetsuits are not required, but most people do choose to race in them. The water temperature is usually 67-70 degrees.

What is the mountain bike division?

The mountain bike division is for those people who are racing using a mountain bike instead of a road bike.  The width of your tires must be 1.75 inches or larger.  These tires can be smooth, knobby, or with tred.
